During this 6-week program, interns will immerse themselves in a combination of land stewardship and eco-municipalist organizing. The eco-municipalist approach is inspired by cooperative, anticolonial and liberation movements from around the world, from Mississippi to Chiapas to Rojava. Interns will spend part of their time working on land care, and part of their time pursuing independent research and advocacy projects focused on local economic development and social change, guided by CRL staff. Interns will contribute to a growing movement cultivating power in-place, concluding with a multi-day gathering with local community members and organizations to strategize participatory and economic democracy in the Cottage Grove area.
Applications for this internship will open in April 2026.
